1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the QRCoder mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
QRCoder is an offline QR code and barcode utility that lets you scan, generate, store, and optionally encrypt QR codes and barcodes on your own device. The App does not require an internet connection to function and does not currently rely on any backend service.
3. Your Responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for the content you scan, generate, store, or share using the App.
- You are responsible for keeping any password you set for encrypted QR codes safe — QRCoder cannot recover forgotten passwords, since they are never stored or transmitted unless you explicitly opt in to on-device secure storage.
- You agree not to use the App to generate or distribute codes containing illegal, harmful, or malicious content, including phishing links or malware.
- When scanning URLs, you are responsible for evaluating the safety of a destination before choosing to open it — QRCoder shows you the full domain but does not guarantee the safety of third-party links.
4. No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of scan results, or uninterrupted operation. Barcode/QR decoding depends on physical factors like lighting and code condition and is not guaranteed to succeed in all situations.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data due to device failure, forgotten encryption passwords, or reliance on scanned content.
6. Local Data and Backups
All records created in the App are stored locally on your device. We strongly recommend you rely on your device's own backup mechanisms (such as iCloud or Google account backups) if you wish to preserve your history — uninstalling the App or resetting your device may permanently delete this data.
7. Intellectual Property
The QRCoder name, logo, and App design are the property of their respective owners. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the App except as permitted by applicable law.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
